As the conversation moves along, opportunities may be opened up for each person to learn more deeply about herself, to become clearer about her options, to hear from the other person in an different way, as a real human being just like herself, and to untap their own power and ability to make decisions for themselves about how to handle their differences.

This is the website of Arnold Zeman, accredited as a family mediator by the Ontario Association for Family Mediation. I am committed to helping parties in conflict manage their differences through the collaborative, non-adversarial, respectful process of family mediation. I am dedicated to ensuring that parties in the family mediation process decide themselves what they wish to talk about with each other and, just as important, how they wish to have such conversations. In this way, I seek to honour ‘the promise of mediation’: the parties directly involved in conflict make their own decisions rather than relying on the decisions of an outsider guided by the law or legal norms.
